Every year Cal – Crochet Along group on Facebook invites some designers from all over the world to contribute to a very special CAL. “Friends Around the World 6 – Adventures in Mosaic Crochet CAL” is the name of 2021 blanket CAL.
Every invited designer creates a piece of crochet. All pieces joined form a unique blanket.
I am so honored to be part of this awesome project for the second year. This year we were asked to design a stripe using mosaic crochet technique. As a result of all the contributions, 3 blankets came up. All stripes were divided in 3 themes – Ocean, Geometric and Garden Party.
“Ancient Tiles” is a relaxing overlay mosaic pattern and I wanted it to be a friendly pattern for crochet beginners.
Crochet Skills Level – Intermediate but with all the pictures available in the tutorial it can be easily made by an adventurous crochet beginner.
Technique used – overlay mosaic crochet
Language – English (US Terms)
Yarn used – Scheepjes Stonewashed XL (aran yarn)
Crochet Hook – 5 mm / H-8
Pattern Includes – a complete material list, a stitches list and explanations, the written pattern, photos for each row and charts.
