Poppin Petals Flower – Free Pattern

Hello all

Do you know the #365daysofcrochetflowers challenge created by Emily Littlefair on Instagram? Everyday a free flower pattern designed by a different crochet designer is released.

So many different flowers and styles. 

I joined the challenge and this is my first flower contribution. Say hi to Poppin Petals

Poppin Petals Pattern

Flower made with Drops Safran yarn and a 3mm hook. US Terms.

Round 1: In a magic ring work ch1, 8sc. Sl st to the first sc. (8sc)

Round 2: ch4 (counts as the first tr from the tr3tog), tr2tog in same stitch. *Ch5, tr3tog in next stitch.** Repeat from * to ** omitting last tr3tog. Sl st to the top of the first tr2tog. (1 ch4, 1 tr2tog, 7 tr3tog, 8 ch5)

Round 3: Start with a standing sc in any ch-5 sp from previous round. In same ch-5 sp work 1 hdc, 1 dc, 1 tr, ch2, 1 tr, 1 dc, 1 hdc and 1 sc. *Skip to next ch-5 sp and work 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 1 tr, ch2, 1 tr, 1 dc, 1 hdc and 1 sc.** Repeat from * to **. Sl st to the first sc. (16 sc, 16 hdc, 16 dc, 16 tr, 8 ch2)

Round 4: Start in any of the first hdc, from round 3, worked in the ch-5 sp, with a standing *sc, sc in next two stitches. Working in front of the ch2, from previous round, work a tr in the ch-5 sp from round2, between the two tr of round 3. In the ch2 space work a hdc, ch4, sl st to the side bars of the hdc. Work another tr, in the same place as the one done before. Sc in next 3 stitches. Skip one stitch and around the cluster from the round2 work a fpdc, skip next stitch.** Repeat from * to **. Sl st to the first sc. (48 sc, 16 tr, 8 hdc, 8 ch4, 8 fpdc)
